New Delhi, Dec 15 (NationPress) Union Minister and former JD(U) national president Rajiv Ranjan Singh, commonly referred to as Lalan Singh, responded to the Congress on Monday regarding its allegations of vote theft.
His comments came as the Congress organized a significant rally at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan to amplify its campaign against the purported vote fraud and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls. Party members and leaders from various regions converged in the capital for this major event.
Addressing reporters outside Parliament, Lalan Singh stated, "I have previously mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi advised the Opposition to gain public trust through solutions. Instead of achieving the people's confidence, they are voicing baseless allegations unrelated to politics. Let them continue their claims."
Furthermore, the Union Minister accused the Congress of having a primary goal to 'remove' Prime Minister Narendra Modi from power.
"This reflects their ideology and culture. They believe that through this very culture, they can govern the nation," he asserted.
This accusation arose after reports and footage surfaced showing some Congress members chanting controversial slogans at the party's rally in Delhi on Sunday.
Footage depicted a faction of Congress supporters chanting "Modi teri kabra khudegi" slogans directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Lalan Singh also extended his congratulations to Nitin Nabin for his new role as the Bharatiya Janata Party's national working president.
"I wish to congratulate him. Nitin Nabin is youthful, vigorous, and exceptionally dedicated. He works with great diligence, which is why the BJP has entrusted him with this task. I trust he will execute all his responsibilities admirably," Singh expressed.
The BJP's parliamentary board announced on Sunday the appointment of Bihar Minister and five-term MLA Nitin Nabin as the party's national working president, concluding months of speculation. He is anticipated to be officially elected as party president in January 2026, with the election to be ratified at the BJP's National Council meeting in April.
The current national president and Union Minister J.P. Nadda is presently serving on an extension. He previously held the role of working president under then BJP president Amit Shah, who later became the Union Home Minister following the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
