Hyderabad, March 5 (NationPress) Member of the Telangana Legislative Council Teenmaar Mallanna, who was recently suspended from the Congress due to anti-party actions, asserted on Wednesday that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was indirectly endorsing the BJP.

During a press briefing, the MLC accused the Chief Minister of undermining the Congress party in the state by providing support to the BJP.

He attributed the Congress's defeat to the BJP in the Mahabubnagar and Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituencies last year to Revanth Reddy's actions.

Notably, Mahabubnagar is Revanth Reddy's home district, and he was elected from the Malkajgiri constituency in 2019.

The MLC stated: "Had the Chief Minister performed effectively in the initial six months, the BJP would not have secured eight seats in Telangana, and consequently, the Narendra Modi administration would not have maintained power at the center."

The Backward Classes (BC) leader criticized CM Reddy's supporters for questioning his political relevance, asserting that it was due to him that Revanth Reddy held the chief minister's position.

Mallanna urged Revanth Reddy to reflect on why there is significant public discontent against the Congress government within just a year.

The MLC faced suspension from the Congress on March 1 after failing to respond to a show-cause notice from the party's disciplinary committee regarding his act of burning the report of the government's BC caste survey.

Mallanna had made highly inappropriate remarks about the report and the Congress government and continued to criticize the party despite being warned by leadership.

He emphasized that, despite his suspension, he would persist in advocating for the upliftment of the BCs, reiterating that the caste survey conducted in the state is fraught with "inaccuracies."

The MLC contended that the survey report inflated the population of upper castes while attempting to downplay the BCs.

He suggested that the caste survey should serve as a benchmark for the entire nation.

"I had anticipated that the survey would allow Rahul Gandhi to walk with pride. The survey can only be a model if conducted transparently," he claimed, challenging the government to debate the survey findings.

"If my comments regarding the caste survey report are incorrect, why has the state government extended the deadline for individuals to submit their details for the survey?" he questioned.

Mallanna, whose birth name is Chintapandu Naveen, operates a YouTube channel and has been an outspoken critic of former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao during the tenure of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

He was elected as MLC in the by-election from the Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam graduate MLC constituency in June 2024, with support from the Congress.
