Hyderabad, Aug 7 (NationPress) The Congress party's disciplinary action committee in Telangana is taking a serious stance regarding the comments made by party MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy about Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
The MLA from Munugode is expected to receive a notice for his public criticisms against the Chief Minister.
Mallu Ravi, the chairman of the disciplinary committee, mentioned that he plans to have a discussion with Rajagopal Reddy.
Currently, Mallu Ravi has been in Delhi for three days alongside the Chief Minister, ministers, and other Congress leaders addressing the Backward Class reservation issue, and he aims to clarify the situation after speaking with Rajagopal Reddy.
After the conversation, a decision will be made regarding the comments.
Rajagopal Reddy has expressed dissatisfaction over not being granted a Cabinet position and has been vocal against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy lately.
On Wednesday, he challenged the Chief Minister for not taking action against contractors from Andhra Pradesh linked to the Kaleshwaram project.
He accused these contractors of embezzling public funds in Telangana, claiming that CM Revanth Reddy is stalling action under the guise of investigations and commissions.
The MLA pledged to expose 20 Andhra Pradesh contractors who are allegedly exploiting Telangana's resources, insisting he will not allow anyone to misappropriate the state's wealth, whether through land, sand, or contracts.
Rajagopal Reddy, brother of Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, also requested the Chief Minister to cease abusing and harassing the opposition and instead concentrate on the government's achievements.
He cautioned that if internal government errors are not addressed, the Congress party could face repercussions.
Rajagopal Reddy stated on Tuesday that he is once more prepared to make a “sacrifice” for the benefit of his constituents.
The MLA from Munugode, located in Nalgonda district, revealed he was promised a Cabinet position upon rejoining the Congress party in 2023, although he insists he is not pursuing any role.
He also noted that he could have secured the ministerial role had he contested from LB Nagar, but chose to represent Munugode for the sake of his community.
“If I become minister, it will benefit the people. Unlike others, I don't seek a ministerial position through lobbying or to engage in corruption,” he stated.
Rajagopal Reddy had previously left the Congress party to join the BJP in 2022 to initiate a by-election in the Munugode seat but faced defeat against a candidate from TRS (now BRS).
He returned to Congress just days before the 2023 Assembly elections and successfully secured a ticket, winning re-election from the same constituency.
After Congress assumed power, Rajagopal Reddy openly expressed his wish to become a minister and has stated his preference for the Home portfolio.
However, he was overlooked again in June when Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expanded the Cabinet with three new ministers.
