Patna, June 25 (NationPress) In a disturbing turn of events, a man is accused of murdering his wife and subsequently attempting to take his own life in the Rohtas district of Bihar this Wednesday.

The victim has been identified as Poonam Devi, and authorities have dispatched her remains for a post-mortem examination at Sadar Hospital, Sasaram.

The suspect, Sugandh Kumar, is reported to be in critical condition and is currently receiving medical care at Sadar Hospital, Sasaram.

In a related incident, a mother and son were found dead in their home in Mahddipur village in Khagaria district on Monday.

The victims were identified as Phul Devi (60) and her son Pankaj Kumar (35). Both were fatally shot, and the assailant also used a sharp weapon to slit Kumar's throat.

The victims' daughter, Savita Kumari, informed the police that the attack happened while her mother and brother were asleep.
