Man Saved While Begging with Rs 20,000 Cash and Train Ticket in Indore

Indore, Dec 28 (NationPress) As part of the continuous effort to create a beggar-free environment in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, the local district administration has successfully rescued a middle-aged individual who arrived from Hyderabad specifically to beg in the city.
The rescue operation was executed by the State Woman and Child Development department, which reported recovering a train ticket (sleeper class) from Hyderabad to Indore along with Rs 20,000 in cash from him.
This rescue occurred on Thursday, and the individual has been relocated to a rescue center where he will receive care and counseling, as stated by the district administration on Friday.
On the same day, authorities also rescued a woman in the city who was later taken to Ujjain. However, it was revealed that she was a 'safai karmachari' (sanitation worker) employed by the Indore Municipal Corporation.
The woman reported that she was forcibly taken by a group of individuals while resting in a market after completing her cleaning duties.
Nonetheless, Dinesh Mishra, the Project Officer of the Child Development Department in Indore, refuted her claims, asserting that she was found begging at a temple, leading to her rescue by a team of female officials as part of the campaign.
The Indore district administration is actively conducting a campaign aimed at rescuing children and women who are begging on the streets.
A specialized team has been established by the city administration to address this issue in conjunction with other departments to foster a grassroots movement for this cause.
The rescued child laborers and beggars are being provided with comprehensive counseling, followed by education and training, ensuring their proper rehabilitation and preventing a return to begging on the streets.
"Rescued individuals undergo counseling in three phases, and if they continue to beg on the streets, there are procedures for legal action against them," Mishra stated.
Recently, the department had rescued a woman beggar near a temple in Indore, who was found with cash exceeding Rs 75,000.
Upon interrogation, the woman admitted to having accumulated this amount (over Rs 75,000) within just one month of begging in the area, according to the claims made by the city administration.
