Neemuch, Jan 31 (NationPress) In a significant transformation for the residents of Madhya Pradesh's Manasa, women are expressing their sincere appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for facilitating the supply of pure drinking water to their households through the AMRUT 2.0 scheme.

The vision of Prime Minister Modi to ensure every household in India has access to clean drinking water is becoming a reality in Manasa, located in the Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh. As part of the ambitious AMRUT 2.0 initiative, the hydration needs of the town's residents are being met with clean and accessible water, a change that has been exceptionally beneficial for the women in the region.

Launched on October 1, 2021, AMRUT 2.0 aims to enhance urban living by providing functional water supply connections, improving sewerage and septage management, and revitalizing water bodies and green areas. The initiative's objective is to create self-sufficient, sustainable cities with assured water security.

The local Municipal Council in Manasa has diligently worked to bring this vision into fruition. They have constructed three large water tanks, two substantial sump wells, and a four-lakh-litre intake well, ensuring that each home now enjoys access to clean drinking water. New pumps have been set up at the Chambaleshwar Filter Plant, situated 23 km away, while an 18-km pipeline has been laid out of the 28-km planned pipeline.

The revitalization of two essential water bodies, Rampuriya Pond and Ram Talai, has further bolstered the town's water infrastructure. These ponds have been enhanced with embankments, paver blocks, green spaces, a boundary wall, and excellent lighting, creating an attractive environment for residents to visit and unwind.

Before the rollout of the AMRUT 2.0 scheme, many areas within Manasa, including Rameshwaram Colony, experienced severe water shortages. Residents often had to rely on distant sources or purchase water tankers, which was both inconvenient and costly. Thanks to the new facilities, even the most isolated colonies now receive a consistent supply of fresh, drinkable water.

In a conversation with IANS, Pooja Dhanotiya, a resident of Rameshwaram Colony, expressed her gratitude: "Previously, there was no tap water in our colony, and we had to walk long distances for water. Thanks to PM Modi’s AMRUT 2.0 scheme, pure water now flows to every home."

Durga Nagda, another resident, echoed these feelings: "We never had tap water before, but now, thanks to Modi ji’s AMRUT 2.0 scheme, we have easy access to safe drinking water. I am incredibly thankful."

Lalita from Ramnagar also shared how life has improved: "We used to depend on water tankers, but now the taps installed under AMRUT 2.0 provide us with clean, reliable water. This is a tremendous relief for us."

Seema Ajay Tiwari, President of the Nagar Parishad Manasa, proudly spoke of the scheme's achievements: "Under AMRUT 2.0, we have accomplished our objectives. With 18 km of water pipelines in place and the intake well along with three large water tanks up and running, we are delivering clean water to every home. Moreover, the rejuvenation of Rampuriya and Ram Talai ponds, complete with green spaces and proper lighting, ensure that residents can not only enjoy these areas but also benefit from improved water access."

Tiwari highlighted the scheme's significance for women: "Women often take the lead in managing household water needs. PM Modi recognized this, and his initiatives have ensured that every woman in our community has access to pure drinking water."
