New Delhi, Nov 30 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized on Sunday that the resolve of the nation's Gen-Z is the most significant asset of 'Viksit Bharat'.
During the 128th episode of his monthly radio show 'Mann Ki Baat', PM Modi remarked, "When there is determination in one's heart, belief in collective strength to collaborate, and the bravery to stumble and then get back up, success is assured even during challenging times."
He reflected on an era devoid of satellites, GPS, or navigation aids, when sailors navigated vast oceans and reached their targets. Today, nations are exploring the endless realms of space, yet the challenge persists—without GPS or any communication, how do we advance?
He shared an anecdote about a viral video from ISRO's drone contest, where Gen-Z exhibited their abilities.
In the footage, India's youth, particularly Gen-Z, attempted to pilot drones under conditions mimicking those on Mars. The drones would ascend, stabilize momentarily, and then crash down.
"Do you know why? Because these drones operated without any GPS support. GPS is non-existent on Mars. Thus, the drone couldn't receive any external signals or guidance. It had to navigate using its cameras and internal software. It needed to recognize ground patterns, gauge altitude, identify obstacles, and chart a safe landing path independently. That's why the drones kept failing one after another," he elaborated.
PM Modi celebrated a team from Pune, which, despite multiple crashes, persevered and eventually succeeded in getting their drone to fly for a spell under Mars-like conditions.
Watching this video, he recalled the moment when Chandrayaan-2 lost contact.
"That day, the entire nation, especially our scientists, felt a wave of disappointment. Nonetheless, this setback didn't deter them. That very day, they began crafting the success narrative of Chandrayaan-3. This is why when Chandrayaan-3 triumphantly landed, it wasn't merely a mission success but a victory of confidence born from failure," he said.
"In that video, I saw the same fire in the eyes of those young individuals. Each time I witness the dedication of our youth and the unwavering commitment of our scientists, it fills my heart with hope. The resolve of our youth truly represents the greatest strength of 'Viksit Bharat'," he concluded.
