New Delhi, Jan 21 (NationPress) Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday held roadshows to support Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates in Shakur Basti, Tri Nagar, and Mangolpuri ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections.
Mann encouraged citizens to cast their votes for AAP. His first roadshow took place in Shakur Basti, supporting Satyendar Jain, the former Health Minister of Delhi. Following this, he campaigned in the Tri Nagar and Mangolpuri constituencies for AAP candidates.
A significant gathering of AAP supporters and local residents attended the events. The Chief Minister was greeted with flowers and enthusiastic chants, expressing his gratitude and urging voters to re-elect the Aam Aadmi Party government, led by Arvind Kejriwal, in Delhi.
During the Shakur Basti roadshow, a balloon featuring the BJP’s election symbol, the lotus, was seen floating above. Mann humorously pointed it out, stating, “This symbolizes that the BJP’s inflated claims have already begun to deflate in the Delhi Assembly elections. The same fate awaits them on result day.”
Speaking to the public in Tri Nagar, Mann declared that February 5 would be a momentous day for Delhi. He urged voters to choose candidates who are in touch with their community and understand their issues.
“AAP candidates hail from regular backgrounds, which enables them to grasp your concerns effectively,” he emphasized.
Criticizing the BJP, Mann remarked, “Previously, they labeled Kejriwal’s welfare initiatives as freebies, yet now they are announcing free schemes themselves. However, they will fail to deliver. They have made numerous false promises, such as pledging ₹15 lakh to everyone. The Aam Aadmi Party is the only party that fulfills its commitments. We have kept our promises in both Punjab and Delhi.”
Mann predicted that the BJP would once again secure only single-digit seats in this election, suggesting that all their MLAs could fit into a single vehicle for the Assembly session. He noted that Congress would maintain its record of zero seats.
“The Congress cannot lose anything as they already have zero seats and will continue to have none,” Mann stated.
Mann accused the BJP of deliberately filing false allegations against AAP leaders.
“They wrongfully implicated our leader Arvind Kejriwal and incarcerated him. However, they fail to understand that while they can imprison Kejriwal, they cannot imprison his ideas,” he asserted.
In Mangolpuri, Mann highlighted the accomplishments of the AAP administration in Punjab. He mentioned, “It has been nearly three years since our government took charge in Punjab. To date, we have established 850 Mohalla Clinics. We are modernizing government hospitals and schools. In three years, we have created over 50,000 government jobs in Punjab. Young individuals in every Punjab village have secured jobs without any bribes or recommendations. Furthermore, today over 90% of households in Punjab receive zero electricity bills.”
Mann accused the BJP and Congress of appropriating AAP’s concept of “guarantees.”
“Initially, they referred to it as a manifesto, then a resolution letter, and later a declaration letter. However, since Arvind Kejriwal began issuing guarantees, they have also adopted the term ‘guarantee’,” he remarked.
