Punjab Chief Minister Mobilizes Support for AAP Candidates in Ludhiana Municipal Elections

Ludhiana, Dec 19 (NationPress) Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann conducted a vibrant roadshow in Ludhiana on Thursday, aiming to rally support for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates in the upcoming municipal corporation elections.
The roadshow was marked by enthusiastic public participation, with excited residents showering flower petals and giving a warm welcome to the Chief Minister.
Speaking to the crowd, Mann expressed his profound connection to Ludhiana, referring to it as his “karmabhoomi” (place of work). He fondly recalled his early career that began in the lively markets of Ludhiana.
“This market is not unfamiliar to me. I frequented these streets during my initial days. Ludhiana has showered me with immense affection, and now it’s my duty to reciprocate to this city,” he remarked.
AAP Punjab President Aman Arora, Working President Amansher Singh Sharry Kalsi, AAP ministers, Ludhiana MLAs, and a large group of AAP office-bearers accompanied CM Mann during the roadshow.
Emphasizing the importance of the municipal elections, CM Mann urged voters, “Press the button with the jhadoo (broom) symbol wherever you see it on the EVM. Choose representatives who will foster genuine development in Ludhiana.”
Mann contrasted AAP's dedication to progress with the shortcomings of the previous administration, claiming, “In the past, municipal corporations failed to prioritize development. The funds were meant for the people, yet they were not utilized for public welfare. Under AAP, every single penny will be allocated for the betterment of the populace.”
The Chief Minister also took a jab at competing political parties, especially the Shiromani Akali Dal, stating, “People are even reluctant to shake hands with leaders from those parties for fear of losing their rings.” He continued, “These parties have betrayed the public's trust for years. It’s time to cleanse the system with the broom and provide Ludhiana with the governance it rightfully deserves.”
“Time is a formidable force. Those who have committed wrongdoings in the name of God are now seeing their election symbols disappear from voting machines,” he asserted.
Highlighting the increasing public awareness, Mann encouraged voters to reject such parties and embrace the honest, people-focused politics of his AAP.
“The citizens of Punjab possess the power to shape the future, and this time they will prioritize integrity over deceit,” he stated.
Mann assured the public that under AAP’s leadership, Ludhiana would experience unprecedented growth. “This city, revered as the heart of Punjab, deserves to reclaim its lost glory. With an AAP mayor in the municipal corporation and an AAP-led government in Punjab, there will be no lack of support or resources. If there are any shortcomings, I take full responsibility,” he affirmed.
The elections for five Municipal Corporations and 41 Municipal Councils, along with Nagar Panchayats, are scheduled for December 21, with vote counting occurring on the same day.
