According to police officials, major losses have been inflicted on Maoists in the Indravati area of Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh, amidst a coordinated operation by security forces.
The operation commenced at 9 am on Saturday, based on intelligence reports, and a clear overview will be available once the operation concludes.
On Thursday, March 20, 2025, reports emerged that at least 30 individuals identified as Maoists were killed in two distinct operations within the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh.
Security forces conducted 11 operations in 2025 alone, resulting in the neutralization of a total of 142 Maoists.
Notable successes included the elimination of 31 Maoists on February 9 and 16 Naxalites on March 25 across various districts, including Bastar, Dantewada, Bijapur, and Narayanpur.
Earlier this month, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a large crowd at the Pandum Festival in Bastar, urging Maoists to lay down their arms and reintegrate into society.
He noted that by April 2025, 521 Naxalites had surrendered, following 881 who had done so in 2024.
The Minister stressed that those who choose to surrender would be embraced by society, while those who persist in violence would face the unwavering resolve of security forces.
The Home Minister reaffirmed the government’s dedication to eradicating Maoist activities by March of the following year, envisioning a future where Bastar symbolizes hope and progress rather than fear.
His visit highlighted the significance of reintegration into society and contributing to the region’s development under Prime Ministerial leadership.
The Home Minister acknowledged that while no one celebrates the loss of life, including that of a Maoist, a vision of a prosperous Bastar can only be fulfilled in a peaceful setting.
