New Delhi, Oct 25 (NationPress) American singer and actress Mary Millben, renowned for her heartfelt performances and cultural diplomacy, has conveyed her profound admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, referring to him as "a good friend" and commending his leadership both domestically and internationally.

Millben, who has delighted Indian audiences on numerous prestigious occasions, characterized her encounters with the Prime Minister as "remarkable and uplifting".

In an interview with IANS regarding her interaction with PM Modi, Millben remarked, "I hold great admiration for the Prime Minister, who has undoubtedly become a good friend. One of my most cherished memories was when the Prime Minister visited the United States as an honored guest... I had the privilege of attending a Yoga Day event at the United Nations in New York alongside the Prime Minister, Richard Gere, and other distinguished attendees. I felt extremely honored to sit close to, I believe, the head of the UN at that time. We were seated near each other during Yoga Day. Performing for the Prime Minister was indeed a significant honor, but that day stands out for me because it was my first encounter with the Prime Minister in a more relaxed atmosphere."

"It was heartwarming to witness his kindness and engagement with everyone present, especially the numerous young individuals in attendance. Observing him participate in yoga was truly extraordinary," she added.

Millben, who has sung the Indian National Anthem and patriotic songs at various India-related events in the U.S., expressed her deep emotional bond with India, stating, "It is well-known that I cherish India and the Indian people, as well as the Indian communities worldwide."

"Since my introduction to India at a significant level through music, and my advocacy for pro-India policies and for Prime Minister Modi, I feel fortunate to now consider India and its people a part of my heart, not only for the music and culture but for our shared values... Growing up, we had a wonderful woman in our home, Smita Patil, of Indian descent, who helped care for us while my mother juggled her responsibilities as a pastor. She became like an older sister and immersed us in Indian culture, cuisine, and music from an early age. I owe much to Smita for introducing us to various aspects of Indian culture," she elaborated.

Discussing 'Operation Sindoor' and recent global conflicts, Millben praised PM Modi's leadership and compassion during challenging times.

She stated, "I've publicly reiterated my sentiments, and I wish to emphasize them again because the loss of life and the families who are still grieving will, unfortunately, remain. While news cycles progress and life continues, the families affected have not and will not. So I extend my condolences once more to those families who lost loved ones in that dreadful terrorist attack."

She further asserted, "We are witnessing an alarming escalation of warfare globally, and I hope that more leaders like Prime Minister Modi and certainly President Donald Trump, whose leadership has facilitated several recent peace agreements, become more proactive in alleviating conflict and fostering peace across various regions. I commend the Prime Minister for his leadership, including the sacrifices made to restore peace in the region after that tragic terrorist attack.
