Washington, Jan 28 (NationPress) In a compelling message about global leadership and diplomacy, singer and actress Mary Millben praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his adept handling of US-India relations and called for a shift in Washington’s stance, stating that dignity and strategic restraint have significantly enhanced PM Modi's reputation globally.

While reaffirming the personal bond between President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Modi, Millben remarked that “true friendship recognizes mistakes or, in this case, missteps,” expressing that she and “many in America disapprove of the recent hostile rhetoric from the Trump Administration towards India.”

She emphasized her commitment to “encouraging President Trump to view India as a friend and ally,” advocating for a policy realignment based on respect, partnership, and shared democratic values.

Reflecting on her two-decade association with the American presidency, Millben noted that 2026 marks “20 years of my relationship with the American presidency,” which began in 2006 when she served as a White House appointee under President George W. Bush and includes performances for five consecutive US Presidents and administrations.

“I am grateful for this divine connection and the chance to be His ambassador in America,” she stated, adding that her long association with the presidency has “introduced me to the world and its leaders, including China and President Xi, Russia and President Putin, as well as my cherished India and friend Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

Millben expressed her longstanding admiration for Prime Minister Modi—praising his moral integrity, humility, compassion for the Indian populace, and innovative mindset. She commended the Prime Minister's “measured and strategic diplomacy amid the ongoing economic tensions with the US.”

“His display of dignity, even under duress, has established him as one of the most respected leaders in global geopolitics,” she noted.

She highlighted that when the US made “an unprecedented change in its approach to India this past year,” the Prime Minister “maintained his dignity.” When faced with threats of higher tariffs from Washington, he “sought diversification with new global partners.”

“Even his silence, when appropriate, has showcased strength,” she stated, characterizing what she described as a “de-risk” approach from the US that compelled the Prime Minister to strengthen ties with “China and President Xi, Russia and President Putin,” and now with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa.

Referring to the India-EU trade agreement as historic, Millben asserted, “Today’s landmark trade deal between India and the EU signifies a critical juncture in global geopolitics.” She characterized it as “a bold affirmation that sovereignty, security, and liberty are the hallmarks of democracy and trade.”

Reflecting on her years of engagement with the White House, Millben remarked, “Throughout my years of service and performances for the American presidency, I have come to realize that without true allies globally, America risks losing its position as the leading superpower.”

Directly addressing India, she reassured, “India, I assure you, America stands with you.” She reiterated her commitment to “encouraging President Trump to treat India as a friend and ally,” emphasizing that the relationship should be founded on respect and collaboration.

“Our two nations, the oldest and largest democracies, share a historic bond rooted in sovereignty and freedom,” she remarked.

In a direct appeal to the US President, Millben stated, “Mr. President, I hold you in high regard and always wish you the best.” She called for a course correction, urging, “Now is the moment to pivot, extend an apology to the Prime Minister, restore our relations with India, and deliver value to the 4.5 million Indian Americans living here, as well as reclaim our esteemed voice on the global stage.”

“As the President of Peace, let us now foster peace with India, Europe, and the world,” she concluded, stating, “A pivot, Mr. President, symbolizes power and strength.”

India and the United States have recently expanded cooperation in defense, technology, and cultural exchanges, all while navigating trade disagreements and policy differences.
