New Delhi, Aug 31 (NationPress) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mayawati announced on Sunday the party's strategy to independently contest the forthcoming Assembly elections in Bihar.
This declaration follows extensive discussions concerning the party's electoral strategies, outreach initiatives, and the appointment of election in-charges, as stated by the BSP chief.
The party's national coordinator Akash Anand, central coordinator and Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Gautam, along with the BSP's Bihar unit, have been assigned significant roles in overseeing the electoral campaign in the state.
Mayawati revealed that the party has crafted detailed plans for a state as large as Bihar. Senior leaders will manage the elections by segmenting the state into three Assembly constituencies, with each zone being supervised meticulously. Nonetheless, all electoral events and functions will remain under her direct supervision.
In a post on her social media account on X, Mayawati commented, "In preparation for the forthcoming elections for the Bihar Legislative Assembly, extensive discussions and evaluations were undertaken over the last two days with senior officials regarding the selection of B.S.P. candidates and the party's preparations at every level."
She confirmed that the framework for various upcoming party initiatives has been established, instructing party officials to tackle identified issues and proceed with complete readiness and commitment of resources.
Key BSP leaders have been tasked with responsibilities concerning the party’s route, public meetings, and other events starting next month.
During the meeting, BSP members reassured their leader of their commitment to achieving improved outcomes in the upcoming elections.
Significantly, Bihar's political atmosphere is charged with activity, as the Congress-RJD alliance ramps up its campaign over allegations of voter fraud, while the BJP-JD(U) coalition counters with strong rebuttals, championing the state's diverse development under Nitish Kumar's governance.
The Election Commission of India's voter verification initiative has introduced a fresh angle to the Assembly elections, leading to a fierce exchange between the ruling NDA and the opposition's grand alliance regarding claims of "vote theft".
