Gurugram, May 15 (NationPress) - The Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) has initiated a targeted campaign against unlawful advertisements in the city.
The corporation's advertising division, under the guidance of Assistant Engineer Ashish Hooda, executed operations to dismantle and seize unipoles that were unlawfully positioned on government property adjacent to Chintal Society in Sector-109 along the Dwarka Expressway.
Additionally, during this initiative, the team swiftly addressed two more illegal unipoles that were situated on private land without prior approval from the corporation.
The removal of hoardings from 26 unipoles was carried out due to outstanding payments of corporation fees. The MCG's team also took action against various other hoardings and advertisement boards that did not comply with regulations.
MCG Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya emphasized that this initiative will persist, asserting that any advertisement erected unlawfully will face consequences.
He reiterated the necessity of obtaining approval from the Municipal Corporation prior to displaying any advertisement. Advertisements that have not settled their fees promptly are also being removed.
In a rapidly developing city like Gurugram, such illegal advertisements breach administrative regulations and could pose security threats. This special initiative by the municipal corporation serves as a crucial measure to maintain the city's organization and aesthetic appeal.
"This kind of enforcement sends a clear message to those who exploit public and private properties in the city without authorization and failing to pay necessary fees," Dahiya remarked.
Furthermore, the MCG has escalated its efforts against violations related to solid waste and plastic waste management.
Recently, the MCG levied a fine of Rs 25,000 each on two facilities, Hotel Lemon Tree Premier in Sector-29 and IFC M3M in Sector-66, for negligence regarding waste management.
