New Delhi, Nov 11 (NationPress) The BJP on Tuesday sought clarification from the Congress regarding the location of its leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on the day of the devastating terror explosion near the Red Fort.
Amit Malviya, who oversees the BJP's National Information and Technology Department, stated, “The Congress is obligated to provide a formal explanation about the whereabouts of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra on the day of the Delhi blast, as well as in the subsequent hours.”
“The nation has the right to know where these two significant figures of the Congress were when India faced an attack,” he added, questioning whether they were present in the city or even in the country to empathize with the victims' families.
Malviya's critique of Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi came shortly after Gandhi expressed his condolences regarding the incident on social media.
On Monday, LoP Rahul Gandhi took to X, stating, “The news of the car explosion near Delhi's Red Fort Metro Station is incredibly heartbreaking and alarming. The reports of multiple innocent lives lost in this tragic event are profoundly sorrowful.”
“In this moment of mourning, I stand in solidarity with the families who have suffered loss and extend my deepest sympathies. I wish for the rapid recovery of all those injured,” expressed Rahul Gandhi.
Similarly, Congress MP from Wayanad, Priyanka Gandhi, described the incident as “heartbreaking” and added, “May God grant peace to the departed souls. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving families. I pray for a quick recovery for the injured.”
The political tension between the BJP and the Congress intensified on Tuesday as Malviya criticized the “shameless” Congress for “acting against national interest,” condemning the Opposition's efforts to “politicize” the tragedy that resulted in the deaths of eight individuals.
“If shamelessness and acting against national interest had a face, it would resemble the Congress,” declared a BJP leader.
“The issue with our Opposition and the extreme far-Left ecosystem is their inability to unite with the country during challenging times,” Malviya remarked on X.
The Congress responded by holding the authorities accountable for failing to control the transportation of such vast amounts of explosives in the NCR region.
Congress National Spokesperson Supriya Shrinate stated, “It is deeply troubling that 13 Indians have lost their lives in the National Capital, Delhi. What is alarming is that approximately 2,600 kilograms of explosives were intercepted in Faridabad. Seven months prior, a terrorist attack occurred in Pahalgam. This is indeed a significant concern. How is this happening?”
