Sangma presenting the initial instalment of Rs 1 crore to Tura Christian Hospital and Holy Cross Hospital, Tura.
“We aim to assist five not-for-profit hospitals statewide through this policy by offering financial resources to enhance their facilities,” remarked the Chief Minister.
He emphasized that these funds can be utilized by the hospitals to improve essential infrastructure, build additional rooms, acquire new equipment, and more.
“This support symbolizes our appreciation and is a step towards sustainable healthcare,” he noted.
The Chief Minister further stated that the subsequent instalment will be disbursed by the Health Department following the submission of the utilisation certificate for the initial funds.
Commending the hospitals operated by missionaries and charitable organizations in the state, the Chief Minister remarked that the government's support serves as a token of gratitude for the invaluable services provided by these institutions.
“This is not merely financial aid; it embodies our heartfelt appreciation. The relentless dedication of our healthcare workers, sisters, doctors, and hospital administrators often goes unrecognized. Today, I want to extend my personal thanks to each one of you for the positive impact you have on our community,” he added.
Additionally, he mentioned that grants will also be allocated for hospitals in Jowai and Shillong.
“The government is committed to backing hospitals that have historically played a crucial role in community service and health outreach, especially in underprivileged areas,” concluded the Chief Minister.
