Jaipur, Oct 22 (NationPress) A 21-year-old individual from Alwar, Ajit Chaudhary, has mysteriously vanished in Russia, where he was studying for an MBBS degree at Buxar State University in Ufa.
To support his education, his family sold three bighas of farmland.
On October 20, Russian authorities discovered his jacket and mobile device on the banks of a river in Ufa. A few hours later, they also found his shoes in close proximity.
As per reports, Ajit, hailing from Kafanwada village in Laxmangarh, has been unaccounted for since 11 PM on October 19.
His roommate alerted the police, stating that Ajit had stepped out to fetch milk from the warden but did not return.
Communication between the family and the local authorities has largely been facilitated through Ajit’s roommate due to language challenges.
Ajit’s uncle, Bhoom Singh, remarked, “On October 20, we received a call from the Russian police. Initially, we were bewildered, but later, Ajit’s roommate spoke to the warden and informed us of the situation. Unfortunately, the warden has not been very responsive. We attempted to contact the college administration, but there has been no feedback. We are completely in the dark about Ajit’s whereabouts.”
The family is concerned that something is wrong.
“After our conversation with the warden, it appears he is suggesting that Ajit may have jumped into the river, yet no one is confirming this,” added the uncle.
Just an hour before his disappearance, Ajit had a video call with his mother, Santara Devi, and sister, Geeta, at around 10 PM on October 19, wishing them a joyous Diwali.
His family mentioned that he was supposed to return to India next month.
Ajit’s absence has left the family shattered. His father, Roop Singh, along with other relatives, is inconsolable.
The Russian authorities are actively searching for him, but his family reports that no significant leads have emerged.
In light of the situation, the family has reached out to Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav for assistance.
The letter states: “Our son, Ajit Singh, has been missing in Russia since October 19. We believe something is amiss. Please assist us in locating him promptly.”
Ajit was regarded as the family’s beacon of hope for a brighter future. His elder brother is preparing for competitive examinations, while Ajit was sent to Russia for medical studies after the family sold three of their twenty bighas of land to finance his education.
