New Delhi, July 29 (NationPress) No global leader urged India to halt its military operations against Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, which occurred from May 7 to May 10, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
PM Modi's statements regarding “no foreign interference” in the India-Pakistan conflict drew enthusiastic applause and desk-thumping from members of the treasury benches.
His clarification about the negotiations between India and Pakistan, initiated at the latter’s request, served as a direct response to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s assertion about foreign mediation in the House.
In a previous Lok Sabha session, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi directly challenged the Prime Minister, asking him to deny US President Donald Trump’s involvement in brokering a ceasefire with Pakistan on May 10.
“The US President has claimed for the 29th time that he facilitated a ceasefire between India and Pakistan over a trade agreement, and if PM Modi has the courage, he must call him a liar,” Rahul stated in the Lok Sabha.
PM Modi ridiculed the Opposition's persistent allegations of foreign intervention and reiterated that the operation concluded after fulfilling its objectives and following a plea from the Pakistani DGMO.
Highlighting the Armed Forces' targeted strikes on terrorist bases and military sites in Pakistan, PM Modi explained that the decision to end Operation Sindoor was made at the request of the neighboring country.
“The Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan contacted the Indian DGMO and requested a cessation of hostilities, stating, ‘We’ve suffered greatly, we can't endure more pain; please stop the attack,’” PM Modi remarked, reiterating that the Indian strikes were precise and aimed at de-escalation.
He emphasized that Operation Sindoor successfully dismantled terrorist infrastructures and command centers within Pakistan, asserting that when the Pakistani military backed terrorists, the Indian armed forces retaliated decisively, imparting a lesson that would linger for years.
Moreover, in historic revelations, PM Modi disclosed that Pakistan launched approximately 1,000 drones and missiles from May 6 to May 10, commending the forces for successfully intercepting all of them.
