Furthermore, the number of medical seats has also been doubled. "Our objective is to serve the community by ensuring that qualified doctors are accessible to everyone. We made a courageous choice to offer medical education in the students' mother tongue, enabling children from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue careers in medicine," he stated.
"It is our priority that all citizens receive better health facilities. Thanks to Ayushman Bharat, millions are now benefiting from free treatment. Thousands of Jan Aushadhi Kendras are supplying affordable medications to the poor and middle-class families, saving thousands of crores for the citizens. Over the past decade, numerous Ayushman Arogya Mandirs have been established in villages providing primary treatment," the Prime Minister remarked.
He made these comments while laying the foundation stone for the Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre, an extension of the Madhav Netralaya Eye Institute & Research Centre in Nagpur. Founded in 2014, this leading super-specialty ophthalmic care facility was created in memory of Guruji Madhavrao Sadashivrao Golwalkar. The upcoming project will include a 250-bed hospital, 14 OPDs, and 14 modular operation theatres, aimed at delivering affordable and world-class eye care services to the community.
"Our principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, meaning the world is one family, is echoing worldwide. Our actions exemplify this belief. When Covid-19 struck globally, India regarded the international community as its family and took measures to provide vaccines to those in need," said PM Modi.
"Recently, Myanmar faced a catastrophic earthquake, and India was the first to respond and assist through Operation Brahma. We promptly provided aid to Turkiye and Nepal after their earthquakes and extended support to the Maldives during their water crisis. During conflicts, we have ensured the safe evacuation of our citizens from various nations. The world is witnessing that as India progresses, it is also becoming the voice of the Global South," he remarked.
He added, "Wherever there is a natural disaster globally, India stands ready to serve wholeheartedly."
"Today, India's greatest asset is its youth. Our youth is brimming with confidence and is moving forward with the spirit of nation-building. These young individuals are carrying the banner of achieving a developed India by 2047.
The feeling of global brotherhood stems from our culture. When the focus shifts from 'I' to 'we', the spirit of the nation takes precedence. When the welfare of the citizens is prioritized in policymaking, its impact is evident everywhere. We are witnessing how India is advancing by breaking the shackles of colonial mentality," PM Modi stated.
"We have derived our guiding principle from Dev and love from Ram. We remain committed to our duties. This is why, regardless of the size of the task, volunteers of the Sangh (RSS) engage selflessly. Our lives are dedicated to charity and service, and when this service becomes part of our sanskaar, it transforms into sadhna. This sadhna is the lifeblood of every volunteer," he expressed.
"This service sanskaar, this sadhana, this lifeblood inspires every volunteer for penance and austerity across generations. This service sadhna keeps every volunteer perpetually active and prevents them from tiring or stopping. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh represents the modern Akshay Vat of India's immortal culture. Today, this Akshay Vat continuously revitalizes Indian culture... the consciousness of our nation," he concluded.
"Reflecting on our history, we see centuries of slavery, numerous invasions, and attempts to dismantle India's social structure, yet the consciousness of India has never extinguished, its flame has remained lit. Even in the toughest times, new social movements emerged in India to keep this consciousness alive," he stated. "We all recognize the Bhakti movement as an example. During the challenging medieval era, our saints revitalized our national consciousness with the ideas of devotion.
