The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive in Jeddah on Tuesday for a two-day visit, marking his third trip to the Kingdom since 2016.

PM Modi characterized the Kingdom as “a reliable friend and strategic partner”, highlighting the significant expansion of bilateral relations since the establishment of the Strategic Partnership Council in 2019.

“Our partnership has limitless potential. In a world filled with uncertainties, our connection remains robust as a pillar of stability. I take immense pride in our relations with Saudi Arabia. The Kingdom is among India’s most treasured partners - a maritime neighbor, a trustworthy friend, and a strategic ally,” PM Modi elaborated.

The Prime Minister also noted that the increasing defense and security collaboration between the two nations reflects a profound mutual trust.

“It serves as a testament to our shared dedication to regional stability, alongside our collective resolve to tackle the evolving challenges in our extended neighborhood,” PM Modi remarked when discussing India-Saudi defense initiatives and joint exercises.

“We have witnessed consistent advancements in security cooperation, which encompasses areas like counterterrorism, combating extremism, disrupting terror financing, and addressing drug trafficking. We are also investigating new avenues of collaboration in cybersecurity, acknowledging its rising significance in today’s interconnected world,” stated the Prime Minister.

He expressed satisfaction that India has been able to cater to certain needs of the armed forces in Saudi Arabia, further stating that India would encourage deeper engagement between private sector entities from both nations.

“We would be open to Saudi investment in the defense manufacturing sector in India, which is now open for private investment,” PM Modi added.

He also commended the “limitless potential” of India’s expanding relationship with Saudi Arabia.

PM Modi praised Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman’s leadership, referring to him as “a strong advocate of our bilateral ties” and a visionary who has garnered global admiration through the reforms under Vision 2030.

“Each time I have met him, His Royal Highness has left a profound impression on me. His insights, forward-thinking vision, and fervor for fulfilling the aspirations of his people are truly extraordinary,” he stated.

Emphasizing shared economic aspirations, PM Modi pointed out that trade between the two nations has flourished despite global challenges, with energy, agriculture, and fertilizers being key sectors.

He welcomed a deeper integration of Saudi and Indian businesses, particularly in emerging sectors like green hydrogen and technology.

“Indian companies have maintained a robust presence across various sectors in Saudi Arabia,” he noted.

PM Modi congratulated the Kingdom for winning the bids to host World Expo 2030 and FIFA World Cup 2034, describing these achievements as a matter of “immense pride.”

Discussing the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEC), which was launched during the G20 Summit in September 2023, PM Modi stated that the project would be “a key catalyst for commerce, connectivity, and growth in the entire region.”
