New Delhi, April 9 (NationPress) During an event for a media organization in the capital, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared on Tuesday that “the essence of performance is the true energy propelling a rising India.”
“The essence of performance is the true energy propelling a rising India,” the Prime Minister stated, while reflecting on his recent trip to Rameswaram, where he inaugurated the historic Pamban Bridge.
He pointed out that over 125 years ago, the British built a bridge at that location, which witnessed significant historical events, withstood storms, and suffered considerable damage due to a cyclone. Despite years of public outcry, prior administrations did not take action. He stressed that it was under his leadership that the construction of the new Pamban Bridge commenced, resulting in the nation’s very first vertical lift rail-sea bridge.
Stressing that project delays hinder national advancement, while prompt action and performance foster development, the PM remarked, “Delay is the adversary of development, and our government is devoted to overcoming this adversary.”
He cited the Bogibeel Bridge in Assam, whose foundational stone was laid by former Prime Minister Deve Gowda in 1997 and was initiated by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. However, the project faced stagnation under later governments, causing difficulties for millions in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. He noted that his administration revived the project in 2014 and completed it within four years, in 2018.
The Prime Minister also referenced the Kollam Bypass Road project in Kerala, which had been pending since 1972. He highlighted that while previous administrations spent 50 years on it, his government completed the project in just five years.
PM Modi pointed out that discussions regarding Navi Mumbai Airport began in 1997, with approval granted in 2007. However, he remarked that the Congress administration failed to act on the project. He emphasized that his government accelerated its progress, and the commencement of commercial flights from Navi Mumbai Airport is imminent.
The Prime Minister also underscored his government's achievements during the first 100 days of 2025.
“The accomplishments of the past 100 days show that India is unstoppable, resilient, and steadfast in its advancement,” PM Modi stated, highlighting that during this time, India became the fourth nation worldwide to achieve satellite docking and undocking capabilities. He acknowledged the successful testing of the semi-cryogenic engine and the milestone of exceeding 100 gigawatts of solar energy capacity.
He also highlighted record coal production of 1,000 million tons and the launch of the National Critical Mineral Mission. PM Modi mentioned the establishment of the 8th Pay Commission for Central Government employees and the increase in fertilizer subsidies for farmers, emphasizing the government’s commitment to farmer welfare.
