New Delhi, Feb 1 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday praised the Union Budget 2025, referring to it as a “Janata Janardan Ka Budget” and stressing its people-centric approach that will drive India's developmental path.
Expressing his insights on the Budget, PM Modi characterized it as a crucial milestone in India's growth journey.
“This is a budget for the aspirations of 140 crore Indians. It will realize the dreams of every citizen. We have opened various sectors for the youth, and the common people will be at the forefront of India's mission to transform into a developed nation. This Budget acts as a force multiplier,” he stated.
He further underscored that the Budget would spur investment, consumption, and growth. “I commend Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and her team for delivering a people’s Budget -- 'Janata Janardan Ka Budget',” he added.
The Prime Minister emphasized a fundamental change in this Budget's strategy, noting that, unlike most budgets that primarily focus on government revenues, this one is aimed at ensuring more funds in the hands of citizens.
“This Budget is centered on how the pockets of the countrymen will be filled, how they will enhance their savings, and how they will contribute to the country’s development. This Budget establishes a solid foundation for this,” he remarked.
Discussing significant reforms in the Budget, PM Modi deemed the decision to include the private sector in nuclear energy as “historic.” He elaborated that this initiative would greatly enhance India's civil nuclear energy domain and aid national advancement.
Highlighting employment-centric initiatives, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of granting infrastructure status to shipbuilding.
“With this status, large-scale ship construction in India will be promoted, providing a renewed impetus to the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative. Shipbuilding is a sector that generates substantial employment,” he noted.
PM Modi also emphasized the potential of India’s tourism sector, announcing the construction of hotels at 50 pivotal tourist spots.
“By classifying hotels under the infrastructure category for the first time, the tourism and hospitality sectors will receive a significant boost. These industries play a vital role in job creation,” he stated.
The Prime Minister reiterated that India is advancing with the principle of “Vikas bhi, Virasat bhi (Development and Heritage together).”
He pointed out initiatives like the 'Gyan Bharatam Mission' and the 'National Digital Repository' as important measures in preserving India’s rich heritage while enhancing its modern infrastructure.
