Thiruvananthapuram, March 11 (NationPress) In a stunning turn of events, the viral 'Kumbh beauty' Monalisa Bhosle tied the knot with her boyfriend Farman Khan on Wednesday evening at a local temple situated in Poovar, a picturesque coastal area of Thiruvananthapuram.

The intimate ceremony occurred around 5:45 p.m., just hours after the couple sought protection from the Thampanoor Police Station due to opposition from Monalisa's family.

M. V. Govindan, the state secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), was among the attendees.

Kerala’s Education Minister V. Sivankutty, who is from the temple's vicinity, commented that this event embodies the true essence of the state.

“This is the authentic Kerala narrative where individuals from diverse backgrounds coexist harmoniously,” he stated.

Monalisa, who gained fame during the Maha Kumbh Mela, was in Kerala for filming her debut movie.

The filming was taking place in scenic spots around Vizhinjam and Poovar when family issues arose.

According to sources, the couple arrived at the police station earlier in the day after Monalisa claimed her family was attempting to forcibly bring her back home and compel her into marrying a relative.

Her relationship with Farman reportedly started about 18 months ago through Facebook, but her family strongly opposed the interfaith union.

Monalisa, originally from Indore in Madhya Pradesh, and Farman Khan, from Maharashtra, expressed that they chose Kerala as they feared significant backlash in other parts of the nation.

Following her complaint, police called her father, Jai Singh Bhosle, to explain that since Monalisa is over 18, she has the legal right to choose her partner.

By evening, what began as a plea for safety transformed into a serene wedding by the sea, turning a tense family dispute into a narrative of personal choice and a new chapter.
