Bhopal, Feb 28 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, officially launched the 'STEM Education' initiative in honor of National Science Day on Friday.
This educational initiative emphasizes hands-on learning and the development of essential skills, aiming to inspire students to embrace a science-oriented mindset, foster curiosity, and integrate advanced technologies into their educational pursuits.
While addressing a gathering of students at Vigyan Bhawan, the Chief Minister stated that the state government is dedicated to improving the quality of life for everyday citizens by optimizing the application of science in governance, education, and public administration.
During his interaction with students, he noted the significant achievement of the celebrated Indian scientist C.V. Raman, who uncovered the Raman Effect on February 28, 1928, which is why this date is commemorated as National Science Day.
He remarked, "India has a rich history of curiosity-driven scientific progress. Long before the telescope was invented in the West, India engaged in Navagraha (worship of nine planets) and made groundbreaking contributions to astronomy," he stated.
Furthermore, emphasizing India's remarkable accomplishments in vaccination and digital payments during the COVID-19 pandemic, Chief Minister Yadav highlighted that the nation is currently experiencing a golden age of science and technology under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Yadav asserted that a systematic, science-based approach, the encouragement of curiosity, and the adoption of advanced technologies have positioned India among the world's leading nations.
At the event, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was established between the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science & Technology and VIT Bhopal to promote collaboration in academia and science.
