Bhopal, April 1 (NationPress) Following the tragic explosion at a firecracker factory in Deesa of Banaskantha district, Gujarat, which resulted in numerous fatalities, the Madhya Pradesh government has announced financial aid for the impacted families.
An ex-gratia payment of Rs. 2 lakh will be provided to the relatives of the deceased, while those injured will receive Rs. 50,000 each.
Since all the victims were identified as workers from Madhya Pradesh, and given the severity of the blast that led to dismemberment of the victims, a team of administrative officials led by Nagar Singh Chouhan—a cabinet member of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav—has been sent to the scene in Banaskantha to manage relief efforts. Reports indicate that approximately 20 individuals may have lost their lives in this catastrophic incident at the firecracker factory.
Chief Minister Yadav stated that the Minister for Scheduled Caste Welfare, Nagar Singh Chauhan, along with police and administrative staff, has been tasked with coordinating relief efforts.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government's steadfast support for the families affected during this challenging period and assured them of every possible assistance to ease their distress.
“Every necessary step will be taken to support the victims,” he declared.
Families of the deceased have been dispatched to Gujarat alongside a team from the district administration, which includes the deputy superintendent of police, an additional collector, and two tehsildars (revenue officials), according to a government official.
The incident, which involved worker deaths due to fire and explosion at the firecracker storage facility in Deesa, exacerbated by the collapse of a slab, has had a profound effect, as noted by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on his X handle.
He also instructed the administration to guarantee immediate and adequate medical attention for the injured.
Moreover, the state government has committed Rs. 4 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs. 50,000 for the injured.
