Bhopal, April 1 (NationPress) Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has voiced deep sorrow over the tragic demise of workers from Madhya Pradesh resulting from an explosion at a firecracker factory in Banaskantha, Gujarat.
On Tuesday at 8 a.m., a boiler exploded at a firecracker factory in Deesa, near Banaskantha, leading to multiple fatalities among workers from Madhya Pradesh. Currently, three workers are in critical condition, while five others suffered minor injuries.
Reports indicate that the workers had arrived for employment just two days prior and were engaged in the production of firecrackers.
Identification of the deceased is underway.
Chief Minister Yadav stated that the Madhya Pradesh government is maintaining continuous communication with the Gujarat government regarding the incident, as per the official statement.
He assured that all necessary assistance will be provided to the affected workers and their families.
The factory, located on Dhunwa Road in Deesa Tehsil, may see an increase in the death toll.
The explosion's intensity was such that body parts of several workers were projected as far as 50 meters.
Human remains were also discovered in the field behind the factory. Reports suggest that it took emergency services five to six hours to bring the fire under control.
