Bhopal, Sep 15 (NationPress) Engineers in Madhya Pradesh are set to benefit from a new in-house training and research facility, as the state government announced the establishment of a national-level training and research institute.
While celebrating Engineers’ Day, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav conveyed that the new institute will be launched soon.
This institute, tailored for Indian engineers, will provide specialized training across various engineering fields and emerge as a center for innovation, technical research, and policy development. “This initiative will not only equip engineers with advanced skills but also position Madhya Pradesh as a frontrunner in infrastructure excellence,” stated Public Works Development (PWD) Minister Rakesh Singh while outlining a comprehensive seven-point modernization strategy for the state's engineering and infrastructure management.
Chief Minister Yadav supported the initiative and introduced additional reforms aimed at enhancing governance and technical capabilities.
The PWD is poised for a complete digital transformation. A new Public Works Management System will digitize planning, budgeting, quality assurance, and payment processes, promoting transparency and timely execution, according to the minister.
Engineers will soon have access to a road tracking mobile application equipped with GIS mapping capabilities, offering real-time updates and detailed information on roads, bridges, and other assets.
To address longstanding challenges, a dedicated app and management system will tackle land acquisition and forest clearance issues, minimizing delays and improving inter-departmental coordination.
Furthermore, bridge design analysis will be linked with the PM Gati Shakti portal, facilitating more efficient and standardized infrastructure planning.
The PM Gati Shakti portal functions as a digital, multi-modal connectivity and infrastructure master plan for India, serving as a centralized platform to integrate and visualize existing and forthcoming projects from various ministries and departments.
The state will also introduce a Road Assignment Management System that will assist in identifying new alignments and creating a comprehensive Road Master Plan.
All PWD assets will be cataloged and made accessible via a centralized portal, enhancing accountability and public accessibility to infrastructure data.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav highlighted that these initiatives will be implemented within the next two to three months, remarkably without any additional financial investment.
“This reflects our commitment to innovation, efficiency, and service delivery,” CM Yadav stated. These announcements signify a transformative phase for Madhya Pradesh, heralding a future where engineering excellence and digital governance converge to construct smarter, quicker, and more resilient infrastructure.
