Bhopal, March 6 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, announced on Thursday the intention to collaborate with the neighboring states of Rajasthan and Gujarat for the 'Shri Krishna Patheya' initiative, aimed at transforming locations linked to Lord Krishna into significant religious destinations.
While presiding over a meeting with the Subject Expert Committee regarding 'Shri Krishna Patheya', a trust established by the MP government to manage this religious endeavor, Chief Minister Yadav stated that development efforts would extend to Rajasthan and Gujarat alongside Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
In discussions with committee members and senior officials in his office, Chief Minister Yadav emphasized the need for collaboration with the governments of Rajasthan and Gujarat for effective implementation.
Present at the meeting were Minister of State Omkar Singh Lakhawat from Rajasthan and Padmashree Bhagwatilal Rajpurohit, the former Director of Maharaja Vikramaditya Shodhpeeth.
The Subject Expert Committee of the 'Shri Krishna Patheya Trust' recommended incorporating all sites associated with Lord Krishna within the project.
The committee noted that Lord Krishna traveled across various regions in the country, notably Ujjain, Dwarka, Braj Mandal, Mewat, Hadaut, Malwa, Nimar, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra.
Chief Minister Yadav stated, "In addition to the Bhopal meeting, further committee meetings should occur in Ujjain and significant sites in Rajasthan, like Jaipur, Bharatpur, Braj, Chaurasi Kos, or other notable locations. This initiative will foster a positive atmosphere for the Shri Krishna Patheya project in both states."
Additionally, Chief Minister Yadav instructed the committee to identify and catalog all sites linked to Lord Krishna’s journeys. He stressed that while the divine nature of Lord Shri Krishna is commendable, the government will also emphasize his other notable contributions to society.
He directed that archaeologists, religious leaders, and esteemed authors of Lord Krishna literature be included in the committee to enhance its initiatives. These contributions include his education in Ujjain, his deep bond with Sudama, his affection for the Vanvasis, and his exemplary role in the Guru-Shishya tradition.
It is worth mentioning that in November of the previous year, the state government established the 'Sri Krishna Patheya Trust', chaired by the Chief Minister, to develop locations associated with Lord Krishna into pilgrimage sites.
This trust comprises 28 members, including 23 ex-officio trustees and five renowned scholars appointed as unofficial trustees for a term of three years.
The primary goal of the trust is to offer consultations and recommendations for the establishment of Sandipani Gurukul and the progression of sites related to Sri Krishna Patheya from social, economic, and tourism perspectives.
