Bhopal, May 6 (NationPress) The government of Madhya Pradesh has initiated a plan to engage local tribal youth in districts affected by Naxalism to monitor the activities of Maoists who may be infiltrating from neighboring states such as Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.
This resolution was reached during a Cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday, as stated by senior BJP leader and the state's Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya.
The minister announced that the Cabinet has sanctioned a proposal to recruit 850 local tribal youths in the three districts impacted by Naxalism: Balaghat, Mandla, and Dindori.
These recruits will serve the state government with a monthly remuneration of Rs. 25,000 for a duration of one year.
"These local tribal youths will act as informants. They will closely monitor the movements of suspected Maoists and communicate their findings to security forces through established channels. Their recruitment will last for one year," Vijayvargiya explained.
Additionally, the minister remarked that following the effective execution of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for a Naxal-free India by 2026, numerous Naxalites have begun to surrender.
"Recently, during my visit to Chhattisgarh, I learned that many Naxalites have submitted surrender proposals, seeking a brighter future for their children," he shared while addressing the media.
He highlighted a significant likelihood that Naxalites may attempt to relocate to the districts of Balaghat, Mandla, and Dindori in Madhya Pradesh.
In alignment with this objective, Madhya Pradesh is poised to undertake decisive measures aimed at completely eradicating Naxalism.
"We possess credible intelligence indicating that some Naxalites have crossed into Madhya Pradesh; hence, the state government has resolved to monitor them closely," Vijayvargiya added.
He further noted that infrastructure improvements, such as road construction, enhanced telecommunication services, and the deployment of security personnel in affected areas, have shown positive outcomes in curtailing Naxal activities.
It is important to mention that during his visit to Chhattisgarh on February 9, Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted that Naxalism would be eliminated by March 31, 2026, ensuring no citizen would suffer due to this issue.
