Noida, Nov 3 (NationPress) In a heart-wrenching incident, two brothers tragically lost their lives on Monday after plunging into the safety tank of their residence in Chotpur Colony, situated within the jurisdiction of Noida's Sector 63 police station, as reported by officials.

A neighbor who bravely attempted to rescue them is currently receiving medical treatment and is reported to be in a stable condition.

The deceased have been identified as Chandrabhan, aged 40, and his younger sibling Raju, aged 26.

Hailing from Bulandshahr, the brothers had relocated to Chotpur Colony after acquiring a new home. Both were employed as carpenters in the Khoda area and were well-regarded in the community for their diligent and amiable nature.

The unfortunate event unfolded on Monday morning when the concrete slab covering the safety tank in their house reportedly gave way.

Chandrabhan, who was standing on it at that moment, fell inside. In a frantic effort to save him, Raju immediately descended but became ensnared by toxic gases lurking within the tank, which led to suffocation.

Witnessing the brothers in peril, their neighbor Hemant, son of Prem Singh and also a resident of Bulandshahr district, tried to save them. Unfortunately, he too inhaled the noxious fumes and lost consciousness.

Upon receiving the alert, the police and fire department from Sector 63 hurried to the scene. The rescue team utilized a cutter to breach the floor and extract the victims.

All three were rushed to a hospital, where doctors pronounced Chandrabhan and Raju dead upon arrival. Hemant was admitted for care and is now reported to be out of danger.

The police have taken custody of the bodies, completed the 'panchnama', and arranged for post-mortem examinations.

This incident has left the community in disbelief. Local residents noted that the brothers had just recently acquired the house and were in the process of renovations.

"They were just starting to settle in. No one anticipated such a devastating event would occur," remarked a neighbor.

Authorities are currently investigating whether the safety tank was structurally compromised or poorly constructed.
