Bhopal, June 6 (NationPress) In a bid to enhance its solar energy initiatives, the Madhya Pradesh government is set to host the Suryamitra Agriculture Feeder Scheme Summit in Bhopal on June 10, as confirmed by an official on Friday.
Aligned with the 'vocal for local' strategy, the summit will take place at the Kushabhau Thakre convention center, focusing on supplying developers and stakeholders with comprehensive insights regarding the bidding process, financial structuring, and technical specifications.
The official stated, “The state is unwavering in its commitment to solar energy, consistently launching new plants and progressively boosting the contribution of solar energy to its power generation capacity. This summit represents a significant move towards energy self-sufficiency, empowering farmers, and establishing Madhya Pradesh as a leader in clean energy.”
Additionally, the Madhya Pradesh government aims to achieve 500 GW of solar capacity by 2030, actively engaging various stakeholders, including farmers.
He emphasized, “To enhance agricultural profitability and ensure 10 hours of power supply for irrigation, the state government has already established around 8,000 dedicated agricultural feeders.”
Under this scheme, solar projects can be developed at full capacity based on the substation load.
The Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam has initiated tenders for selecting developers for these projects, which will operate under 25-year Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with the government.
