JP Nadda praises Haryana CM Saini, highlights state's growth milestones
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda on Monday, 6 July praised Haryana's 'double-engine government' and commended Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini for the state's wide-ranging developmental progress, speaking at an event in Ambala to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
Key Infrastructure Achievements Highlighted
Nadda cited several flagship projects as evidence of Haryana's accelerating development. These include the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant in Yamunanagar, the Dwarka Expressway, the Rewari Bypass, expansion of the national highway network, ongoing railway projects, and the Maruti Suzuki manufacturing facility at Kharkhoda.
The Union Minister also highlighted the state government's transparent recruitment process, stating that thousands of young people had secured government employment without recourse to recommendations or bribery — a point he described as a mark of clean governance.
Welfare Schemes and Healthcare Gains
Nadda referred to several welfare initiatives under the Saini government, including the Lado Laxmi Yojana, the provision of LPG cylinders at ₹500 for eligible beneficiaries, and the procurement of farmers' produce at the minimum support price (MSP). He also noted the expansion of AIIMS facilities and cancer treatment infrastructure as significant improvements in the state's healthcare sector.
Ambala Science Centre to Be Named After Dr Mookerjee
Nadda congratulated Chief Minister Saini on his announcement to name the Ambala Science Centre after Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee and to install a grand statue of the leader there. He called the gesture a fitting tribute to Mookerjee's legacy.
Recalling Mookerjee's historical role, Nadda said: 'Had he not led that movement, West Bengal, in its present form, might not have existed today,' referring to Mookerjee's efforts in ensuring West Bengal remained part of India.
Mookerjee's Vision and National Ideals
Nadda described several landmark policy decisions — including the abrogation of Article 370, the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, the National Education Policy, and industrial development — as extensions of Dr Mookerjee's founding vision, realised under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He called on every citizen to honour Mookerjee's memory by contributing to a Developed India and a Self-Reliant India, placing national interest above personal considerations.
Among those present at the programme were BJP state president Archana Gupta, former Member of Parliament Sudha Yadav, and other senior party leaders. With elections and governance benchmarks both in view, Haryana's ruling dispensation is expected to continue amplifying these development narratives in the months ahead.
