Bhubaneswar, Feb 28 (NationPress) The Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, JP Nadda, made his arrival in Odisha on Friday to engage in a national summit hosted by the National Health Mission in Puri.

As per the Health and Family Welfare department's announcement, Nadda will officiate the opening of the 9th national summit focusing on Good, Replicable Practices and Innovation within the Public Healthcare System in India, as well as unveil the findings from the 16th Common Review Mission.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and state Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling are also set to participate in the inaugural event. This two-day summit will take place at Swosti Premium Beach Resort in Puri.

Since its inception in 2013, the national summit has evolved into a formal mechanism for the exchange of innovations cultivated by the National Health Mission.

The National Health Innovation Portal (NHInP), inaugurated during the Shimla summit in 2015, reflects the Ministry's relentless commitment to identifying and fostering beneficial practices and innovations, according to official reports.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the significant contribution of the Ayush sector in advancing holistic wellness and health.

PM Modi led a review meeting aimed at enhancing the sector's influence via research, innovation, and international partnerships.

In a post on X, PM Modi remarked, "The Ayush sector has played a pivotal role in promoting holistic well-being and good health. Today, I chaired a review meeting to further strengthen its impact through research, innovation and global collaborations. India

is committed to establishing traditional medicine as a fundamental aspect of healthcare."

"Over the past decade, the Ayush sector has experienced remarkable growth in India. With initiatives such as Ayush Visa, AI-enabled research, and the WHO Global Traditional Medicine Centre in Jamnagar, India is at the forefront of evidence-based traditional medicine," he stated.

Union Minister Nadda's visit to Bhubaneswar commenced on Thursday, spanning two days in Odisha.

Upon his arrival on Thursday evening, Nadda received a warm reception from Chief Minister Majhi and senior BJP officials at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA). State BJP President Manmohan Samal was among those present to greet the Union Minister.

Following a brief discussion with senior BJP leaders, the Union Minister proceeded to Konark for an overnight stay, in preparation for the summit organized by the National Health Mission (NHM) in Puri.
