Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday, 14 September said that India's voice is being heard across the world with greater confidence and respect than at any point in its history, congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi for successfully hosting the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi.

In a post on X, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president expressed delight at India's conduct of the summit, describing it as a landmark moment at a time of 'significant global change.' 'I'm delighted that India successfully hosted the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, bringing together some of the world's leading economies at a time of significant global change,' Naidu wrote.

He specifically highlighted the New Delhi Declaration's emphasis on stronger multilateral institutions, resilient supply chains, innovation, sustainable development, and greater cooperation among emerging economies — issues he described as central to 'global growth and prosperity in the decades ahead.'

India as a Consensus-Builder

Naidu observed that today's India has emerged as a trusted platform where nations with diverse perspectives can come together, engage constructively, and find common ground. He said this ability to build consensus while advancing the interests of the developing world reflects India's growing economic strength and stature on the global stage. 'Today, India's voice is being heard with greater confidence and respect across the world than ever before!' he added.

Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan's Remarks

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan also weighed in, calling the successful conclusion of the summit 'a moment of immense pride for Bharat.' He noted that BRICS nations represent approximately 50 per cent of the world's population and 40 per cent of global GDP, underscoring the grouping's significance in shaping economic and geopolitical affairs.

Kalyan said India had successfully steered the BRICS Chairship under the theme 'Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability'. He congratulated the Prime Minister, the Ministry of External Affairs, diplomats, officials, and support teams for their efforts in making the summit a success.

Significance of the New Delhi Declaration

According to Kalyan, the summit advanced cooperation across a broad agenda — economic and financial collaboration, trade, investment, resilient supply chains, and development finance, alongside areas such as artificial intelligence, energy security, and food security. The summit also reinforced collective commitments on peace, counter-terrorism, climate action, sustainable development, and a stronger voice for the Global South.

The adoption of the BRICS New Delhi Declaration, Kalyan stated, marks an important step towards translating shared priorities into meaningful cooperation and action.
