Amaravati, Feb 7 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Friday, requested the NITI Aayog to assist in realizing the Swarnandhra vision, aiming for one AI specialist and one entrepreneur in every household.
This appeal was made during a meeting with NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Suman Bery at the State Secretariat.
Naidu elaborated on the goals of the Swarnandhra-2047 vision, discussing the numerous opportunities present in the state and the proposed developmental initiatives. He also requested the NITI Aayog to actively cooperate in providing technological support and implementing innovative policies.
Informing Bery about the ambitious targets set for 2047, the Chief Minister stated that achieving a $2.4 trillion economy requires a consistent 15 percent growth rate annually, with an average per capita income of $42,000.
He expressed optimism that with the support of the NITI Aayog, the state would progress significantly and emerge as a model region in Viksit Bharat-2047.
Bery acknowledged that this is an opportune moment for both the central and state governments, recognizing the potential for development and assuring that the NITI Aayog would contribute.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the current emphasis is on Swarnandhra-2047, focusing on economic growth, skill enhancement, industry establishment, and stability. He conveyed his vision for the state to become a global leader in human resource development and good governance.
However, he pointed out ongoing challenges, particularly financial issues stemming from the bifurcation, along with the loss of Hyderabad, which was instrumental in revenue generation.
Naidu criticized the previous administration for its neglect of capital expenditure and basic amenities over five years. Nevertheless, he assured that efforts are underway to fortify the state by leveraging its advantages and addressing challenges.
The Chief Minister noted that the state boasts the third largest sea coast, offering extensive connectivity through roads, ports, and railways, alongside three existing industrial corridors. He stated that the state serves as a gateway to East-South-East Asia and is attracting investments in renewable energy and data technology.
Naidu also requested NITI Aayog's support to develop Visakhapatnam into a prominent economic region, one of four growth hubs in India, while also developing Amravati and Tirupati as regional centers. He emphasized the need for collaboration between the state government and NITI Aayog to strengthen industrial corridors, skill hubs, smart cities, and essential infrastructure.
