Key Takeaways
Amaravati, Jan 30 (NationPress) YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy on Friday urged Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to clarify his claims regarding the alleged adulteration of Tirupati laddus with animal fat during the party's governance.
He asserted that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu must either stand by his statements concerning the alleged adulteration of laddu with animal fat or issue a clear statement following lab results that indicate no animal fat was detected in the laddus.
He emphasized that the lab reports unequivocally confirmed the absence of animal fat in the Tirupati laddu. Reddy noted that Chandrababu Naidu's comments, which sparked global outrage among devotees, should be addressed seriously, and he should be reprimanded for his reckless statement.
In a press briefing, Reddy stated that Chandrababu, in his prominent position, attempted to politicize the situation by making an irresponsible assertion regarding the adulteration of the Tirupati laddu, which caused significant unrest.
The SIT report indicates that no animal fat was present in the laddu, based on analyses from two national laboratories. Reddy insisted that Chandrababu should be held accountable for remarks that offended the sentiments of devotees worldwide.
“The report did not implicate the TTD Chairman or Board members in any irregularities, thus keeping our reputation intact, and the allegations are subject to legal examination,” he mentioned.
The propaganda machine and Chandrababu continue to insinuate that all adulteration occurred solely during the period of 2019–24 instead of acknowledging any errors. They are persistently attempting to undermine and level unfounded accusations to mask his blunders, he added.
Chandrababu owes an explanation, as his comments on the adulteration ignited the entire investigation, which hurt the feelings of the devotees, the YSRCP leader remarked.
“There is a systematic approach for the procurement of ghee, which we have enhanced by improving quality control and rejecting any products that fail to meet the required standards. We have modernized the system, and the coalition’s focus on the 2019–24 period and selective transactions only reveals their political motives. The companies and contractors existed long before, and while names may have changed, the supplies have remained constant,” he noted.
