Amaravati, Jan 29 (NationPress) - The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has called for an apology from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan to the devotees. This demand follows the revelation from a chargesheet by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), made public on Wednesday, which confirmed that no animal fat was utilized in the sacred Tirupati laddus.
Reacting to this development, YSRCP stated, ‘Truth prevails’, highlighting the CBI's confirmation that the ghee used in the laddus by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) was free from animal fat.
In a social media post, YSRCP emphasized, “The truth is out. The CBI chargesheet confirms no animal fat was used in TTD laddus. Those who misled devotees with false narratives must take responsibility.”
They also expressed curiosity about when CM Naidu and Dy CM Pawan Kalyan would issue an apology.
Spokesperson Karumuri Venkata Reddy of YSRCP stated that a significant conspiracy in Andhra Pradesh’s history has now been unveiled.
He further elaborated, “The ICAR–National Dairy Research Institute in Haryana and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) in Gujarat tested ghee samples used for the sacred Tirumala Sri Vari Laddu Prasadam, confirming no animal fat was present. Chandrababu, who propagated false claims about animal fat being mixed with the ghee, must publicly apologize.”
YSRCP leaders highlighted that both Naidu and Pawan Kalyan have hurt the religious sentiments of devotees by alleging that the ghee procured by TTD during YSRCP's administration was adulterated with animal fat.
The CBI, which formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) following Supreme Court directives in October 2024, submitted its final chargesheet to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Court in Nellore on January 23.
In its chargesheet, the CBI referenced the report from the ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana, stating that four ghee samples drawn by TTD from AR Dairy Food Private Limited were tested for the presence of lard and other animal fats. The report indicated that no lard was detected in any of the samples.
However, the chargesheet did confirm that the ghee was adulterated with a mix of vegetable oils and laboratory esters meant to chemically replicate dairy parameters.
