Did Andhra CM claim Tirupati laddu ghee was made using bathroom cleaners?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Amaravati, Feb 6 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, asserted on Friday that the famous Tirupati laddu was made using ghee derived from bathroom cleaning chemicals during the previous tenure of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).
He accused the YSRCP of compromising the sanctity of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple by adulterating the 'prasadam' (offering).
"For five years, the YSRCP prepared 'prasadam' with ghee sourced from cleaning agents. This ghee was indeed made from chemicals used in bathrooms," the Chief Minister stated.
While addressing a public meeting in Yemmiganur, Kurnool district, on the occasion of distributing 'your land -- your right' pattadar passbooks to farmers, he emphasized the gravity of the issue.
Chandrababu Naidu also pointed out that YSRCP leader and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy claimed to have received a clean chit from the Central Bureau of Investigation and Special Investigation Team, but his own uncle, Y.V. Subba Reddy, who previously chaired the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), acknowledged that adulteration indeed took place.
He asserted that he attempted to restore integrity after the YSRCP sullied the TTD with contaminated prasadam.
Naidu noted a significant distinction between the laddu offered in earlier times and the current offering.
Additionally, he criticized the YSRCP for prioritizing political theatrics over genuine public concerns.
"Strength should be exhibited during elections," he remarked.
Referring to Jagan Mohan Reddy's recent actions in Guntur, Naidu highlighted the inconveniences caused to motorists.
"Previously, they tragically ran over an individual named Singayya with their convoy. In Bangarupalyam, they recklessly littered mangoes and engaged in rowdy behavior," he stated, expressing his familiarity with managing such political antics.
He asserted that the Telugu Desam Party-led government in Andhra Pradesh is delivering pattadar passbooks to farmers equipped with robust security features to avert tampering of land records.
Naidu declared that anyone attempting to manipulate these records would face imprisonment.
He lambasted Jagan Mohan Reddy for issuing passbooks adorned with his photograph.
"Who is he to display his photos on land that belongs to our ancestors?" the Chief Minister questioned, alleging that Reddy wasted Rs 700 crore to imprint his images on land survey markers.
Chandrababu Naidu accused YSRCP leaders of attempting to unlawfully seize farmers' lands.
He claimed that under the Land Titling Act, they appointed affiliates to take control of disputed properties.
"This month, we are surveying 279 villages and aim to grant passbooks to 1.16 lakh individuals. We are targeting to distribute 18 lakh passbooks by April," he said.
Stating that 37.40 lakh passbooks have been processed so far, Naidu noted that surveys must be conducted in 9,500 villages and 62 lakh more passbooks are yet to be issued.
He asserted that Rayalaseema, once plagued by drought, is evolving into a horticultural center, with over 200 lakh tonnes of horticultural products produced annually.
"The credit for providing water to this area via various means, including drip irrigation, belongs to our government," the Chief Minister concluded.
