Vijayawada, March 30 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, proclaimed on Sunday that his ultimate ambition is to create a society devoid of poverty, and introduced the P-4 initiative aimed at realizing the target of zero poverty.

Speaking during the main official event in Vijayawada to celebrate the Telugu New Year ‘Ugadi’, Naidu stressed the importance of preventing wealth from being concentrated among a select few. He asserted that a fair society can only be achieved when everyone has access to quality education, healthcare, and economic prospects.

The Chief Minister initiated the Margadarshi - Bangaru Kutumbam Zero Poverty (P4) program. His vision entails that affluent individuals should assist the less fortunate, with 10 percent of the societal elite voluntarily aiding the bottom 20 percent. He urged the Telugu community to set an example globally in philanthropy.

Naidu stated that over the past nine months, the NDA government has prioritized a “People First” strategy in its decision-making. While promoting welfare and development, the government is also drawing in investments. The introduction of WhatsApp Governance has made government services more accessible to citizens without the need for in-person office visits.

Mentioning a budget of Rs 3.22 lakh crore for 2025-26 despite fiscal limitations, he expressed hopes that people's incomes would rise, leading to improved living standards, happiness, and health.

Naidu criticized the previous government, claiming that Andhra Pradesh faced significant challenges in the last five years, stating that the issues created by the former administration were unprecedented in his extensive political career.

Recalling his role in establishing HITEC City in Hyderabad to foster the IT sector, he noted that it provided employment to thousands of youths, many of whom are now settled both nationally and internationally.

“I promoted IT back then, and now I discuss AI and Quantum Valley. Just like when I advocated for mobile phones, which were once ridiculed, we now recognize that progress is impossible without them. If utilized correctly, these mobile devices can bring about transformative changes, but they can also lead to issues if they become an obsession,” he emphasized.

He expressed his alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan in the vision of strengthening Andhra Pradesh and India. He hopes that India will emerge as a global leader, with Telugu individuals playing a vital role in the nation’s advancement.

The Chief Minister highlighted the distinctive nature of Indian culture and traditions, stressing the need to preserve them. “Neglecting our history means losing our identity. Ugadi reminds us of Pachadi (a traditional festive dish) and Panchanga Sravanam,” he added, reminiscing about his childhood when villagers would gather to listen to the recitation of the Panchanga.
