New Delhi, Sep 7 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) unveiled a nationwide initiative focused on fitness and social consciousness — the 'Namo Yuva Run' — to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday on September 17.

This grand event is scheduled to take place at 75 different locations across India on September 21, with an anticipated participation of over one million youth running together.

During a press conference held at the BJP headquarters, BJYM President and Member of Parliament Tejasvi Surya stated that this run is themed “Nasha Mukt Bharat” (Drug-Free India).

“Over the last decade, under the guidance of PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, India has launched a vigorous campaign against drug abuse. This run is not solely about fitness, but also about empowering our youth against the scourge of addiction, which undermines individuals and jeopardizes national security,” he emphasized.

Surya remarked that each venue would accommodate between 10,000 to 15,000 participants, making it the largest participative run in the nation.

Fitness icon and actor Milind Soman, designated as the event's brand ambassador, will also participate in the campaign.

“Since my high school years, I have been an admirer of Milind Soman, who embodies fitness in India and serves as a role model for the youth. However, above all, Prime Minister Modi is the greatest inspiration for the younger generation,” Surya stated.

The BJYM leader connected the drug epidemic to broader security issues, including narco-terrorism, cross-border smuggling, and financing of Naxal activities.

He highlighted that in the past decade, India has significantly enhanced its enforcement efforts, confiscating over 24 lakh kg of narcotics between 2014 and 2024, compared to just 3.6 lakh kg in the preceding decade.

“In just the past year, 10 lakh kg of drugs have been seized and eliminated,” he stated.

The 'Namo Yuva Run' will kick off on September 21, uniting millions of young Indians in a synchronized national call for fitness, discipline, and a drug-free future.

Point of View
