Key Takeaways
Narmada/Gandhinagar, Feb 24 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, has given the green light for the development of two new bridges in Narmada district, aimed at enhancing road connectivity for more than 18,000 tribal residents across eleven villages. This initiative has been approved with a total investment of Rs 302.40 crore.
The objective behind this decision is to facilitate easier access between the district and taluka headquarters, especially for villages situated in both the northern and southern areas of Narmada. Notable villages benefiting from this project include Tilakvada, Vasan, Rengan, Rampura, Mangrol, and Shehrav.
Officials report that Rs 123.13 crore has been earmarked for a bridge that will connect Rengan Ghat to Rampura Ghat, while Rs 179.27 crore has been allocated for a bridge that will link Shehrav Ghat to Tilakvada Ghat.
These infrastructures are expected to improve daily commuting for the locals and ensure uninterrupted access to educational institutions, even during the monsoon season.
“The construction of these two bridges will greatly enhance connectivity in the tribal zones of Narmada district. Residents, including students and daily commuters, will benefit from safer and quicker routes, significantly cutting down travel time,” stated an official.
In addition to facilitating daily transport, the bridges will support large community gatherings.
The annual Uttarvahini Parikrama, which occurs in the Chaitra month in Nandod and Tilakvada talukas, draws in thousands of devotees.
These new structures will lessen the overall detour distance by 17 kilometers for participants, leading to considerable time and fuel efficiency. Local officials have highlighted the strategic significance of this project in fortifying infrastructure in tribal locales.
The enhanced connectivity is expected to bolster socio-economic activities, ease access to healthcare and education, and streamline movement for both residents and visitors.
Construction is anticipated to commence soon, with the government assuring stringent oversight to ensure timely completion.
This initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance transportation infrastructure in the tribal regions of the state, guaranteeing that development reaches remote villages and improves the standard of living for the inhabitants.
