Speaking at a gathering commemorating the 150th anniversary of 'Vande Mataram', CM Yogi emphasized that during the Covid-19 crisis, leadership galvanized workers to commit to national service, mirroring how the anthem inspired freedom fighters to resist colonial oppression.
“The selfless dedication displayed by government personnel during the Covid crisis was reminiscent of the efforts of freedom fighters who resonated with the anthem a century ago,” the Chief Minister stated.
He noted that throughout the pandemic, the government and its employees, regardless of their salary levels, were driven by a shared determination to combat the virus and discover a remedy.
“This was possible due to a leadership that was sensitive and responsive to Bharat, Bhartiyata, and its citizens,” he added.
“'Vande Mataram' represents an emotional and timeless tribute to India's devotion and strength. Infused with the 'Nation First' spirit, this song inspires a collective dedication to Mother India and ignites an unwavering sense of respect for the homeland within every Indian heart,” he stated in a post on X.
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership in the nationwide observance of the 150th anniversary of 'Vande Mataram', he remarked, “Today holds immense significance for all of us... 'Vande Mataram' has become an eternal mantra of India’s independence.”
“During that era, despite facing severe oppression from the colonial powers, every citizen and revolutionary in India rallied for the cause of awakening the nation’s collective consciousness, carrying the 'Vande Mataram' anthem from villages to cities,” he highlighted.
‘Vande Mataram’, symbolizing a unified expression of India, serves as a mantra that weaves the country together, allowing individuals to transcend caste, creed, and religion to think about their nation,” he concluded.
