New Delhi, May 12 (NationPress) Member of Parliament Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday honored the valiant soldiers who sacrificed their lives in cross-border firing and during counter-terror operations against Pakistan. She expressed profound sorrow, stating that the entire nation is united in grieving the loss of these heroic individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country.
“The martyrdom of our courageous soldiers during the Indian Army’s operations against terrorists and confrontations with Pakistani forces is extremely heartbreaking,” Priyanka Gandhi remarked in a post on X.
“Subedar Pawan Kumar ji, Sepoy M Murali Naik ji, Lance Naik Dinesh Kumar ji, BSF Sub-Inspector Mohammad Imtiaz ji, Sergeant Surendra Kumar Moga, Rifleman Sunil Kumar, and Rajouri Police Officer Raj Kumar Thapa ji -- all gave their lives for the safety and sovereignty of our nation,” she continued.
She also extended her condolences to the civilian casualties resulting from the conflict. “Numerous innocent civilians have also lost their lives. I offer my heartfelt condolences to the grieving families. The entire nation stands in solidarity with them during this challenging period. We will always honor our martyrs and their families,” she added.
In a related development, the mortal remains of BSF Sub-Inspector Mohammad Imtiaz, who was martyred in the line of duty, were transported to Patna airport from Jammu and Kashmir on Monday morning.
A state-level ceremony has been organized to commemorate his sacrifice, with officials and the public gathering to pay their final tributes.
Earlier on Sunday, hundreds gathered to bid a tearful farewell to Army jawan M. Murali Naik, who was killed during the cross-border firing by Pakistani forces along the Line of Control.
The last rites of the Angniveer were conducted with full military honors, attended by Andhra Pradesh ministers V. Anitha, Savitha, Nara Lokesh, Satya Kumar, and Army officials at Kallithanda hamlet in Gorantla mandal, Sri Sathya Sai district.
Meanwhile, normalcy has returned to border areas in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan, although Indian security forces remain vigilant.
Officials reported that the situation in the border districts of the Jammu division remained calm overnight, with no incidents of drone activity, firing, or shelling.
Similarly, there were no reports of firing incidents in Punjab and Rajasthan. However, all educational institutions are closed for an additional day.
