Jammu, Aug 30 (NationPress) Ten individuals lost their lives, and three others remain unaccounted for following a devastating landslide and cloudburst that struck the Reasi and Ramban districts of Jammu and Kashmir overnight.

Officials from the state government reported that seven fatalities occurred when a landslide demolished a residential structure in the Mahore region of Reasi district late Friday night.

This disaster was precipitated by intense overnight rainfall that affected the area.

"The deceased include a couple and their five children," officials said, noting that heavy rain in Badder village of Mahore led to the landslide. A rescue operation is currently in progress. The landslide struck a temporary shelter (Kacha House), resulting in the deaths of seven individuals," they added.
