Bhubaneswar, July 16 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition in the Odisha Assembly and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has condemned the excessive police actions taken against Biju Janata Dal (BJD) workers and leaders during their peaceful demonstration at Lower PMG in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, which aimed to demand justice for the FM College girl student who tragically succumbed on Monday following a self-immolation attempt due to sexual harassment by a faculty member.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Patnaik claimed that the fundamental right to protest in a democratic manner is facing severe threats under the current state government. “The right to democratic protest is under grave threat in #Odisha.
