NCP Criticizes Rohit Pawar for Exploiting Ajit Pawar's Tragedy
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 28 (NationPress) NCP Chief Spokesperson Anand Paranjape on Saturday delivered a strong response to NCP(SP) MLA Rohit Pawar, labeling his recent political maneuvers in light of the tragic passing of former Deputy Chief Minister and party national president Ajit Pawar as "unethical and revolting."
In the wake of the devastating plane crash that resulted in Ajit Pawar's death, the NCP leadership has initiated formal measures to guarantee a comprehensive investigation.
Furthermore, the party delegation has approached Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, advocating for a CBI inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident, as stated by Paranjape.
He voiced his profound discontent over Rohit Pawar's recent series of meetings, despite having received official assurances.
"Despite CM Devendra Fadnavis's commitment to register a case after reviewing the technical challenges, Rohit Pawar persists in meeting with leaders such as Deputy CM Eknath Shinde and MNS Chief Raj Thackeray. This political maneuvering must cease," he asserted.
Paranjape reminded the public of the "political marginalization" Ajit Pawar endured during his lifetime. Since July 2023, after adopting a different political stance, the family has allegedly left Ajit Pawar in isolation.
He referenced past comments from senior party leaders who labeled Sunetra Pawar as an "outsider", while urging support for "family" members.
He also mentioned a widely circulated video in which a distraught Ajit Pawar lamented that while his family had deserted him, the people of Baramati remained loyal.
Paranjape dismissed claims regarding Jay Pawar's treatment during the party's national convention. Rohit Pawar had claimed that Jay Pawar was pushed to the back rows; however, Paranjape clarified that Facebook Live footage reveals moderator Suraj Chavan consistently encouraging Jay Pawar to sit at the front.
Additionally, Paranjape affirmed that the entire NCP stands united with Ajit Pawar's wife, Sunetra Pawar, the Deputy CM and NCP National President, along with their children, Parth Pawar and Jay Pawar.
He stressed that it is not merely party workers, but the entire state of Maharashtra that has lost a remarkable leader, and all are eagerly awaiting the truth of the accident to be unveiled through appropriate channels, rather than through political theatrics.
