New Delhi, Oct 6 (NationPress) In light of the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) recent announcement regarding the Bihar Assembly election schedule, the BJP confidently asserted on Monday that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is set to triumph, emphasizing their readiness to win with a significant majority.
BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain stated, “What we were anticipating has finally materialized. The elections will occur in two phases, and the NDA government will be reinstated. We have accomplished remarkable work in Bihar. Over the past 11 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has allocated Rs 14 lakh crore to the state. Initiatives such as the Vande Bharat train, metro projects, and various farmer welfare schemes have significantly aided the populace. Our victory will stem from Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh expressed, “The BJP and NDA are destined to win. We appreciate the ECI for engaging with all political parties prior to finalizing the election dates.”
BJP leader Satish Chandra Dubey also conveyed confidence, stating, “We are wholly prepared, and the NDA will emerge victorious with a full majority.”
Bihar Minister Santosh Kumar Suman remarked, “We welcome the announcement. Those who doubted the process's impartiality now have their answer. Voting will occur peacefully, and on November 14, we will win decisively.”
Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Samrat Choudhary, noted, “We embrace the ECI’s announcement. The NDA will enter the elections bolstered by its developmental achievements in the state. Our preparations are complete.”
Bihar Minister Nitin Nabin extended his best wishes to the citizens of Bihar, calling the elections a grand festival of democracy, offering them a chance to vote for a progressive government.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak welcomed the decision, stating, “The Commission has scheduled the elections in two phases. On behalf of the BJP, I wish the people of Bihar well. We encourage everyone to support the NDA. Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the NDA has liberated Bihar from 'jungle raj' and significantly advanced development. Welfare schemes for the underprivileged have garnered public trust.”
Meanwhile, the Bihar Assembly elections are set for November 6 and 11, with results announced on November 14.
In a media statement, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accompanied by Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, referred to the Bihar elections as the “mother of all elections.”
“We assure Bihar voters that the elections will not only be exemplary but also the most peaceful due to a concentrated effort to maintain law and order,” he affirmed.
The 2025 Assembly elections mark the first in the eastern state following the electoral roll purification process under a Special Intensive Revision (SIR), culminating in a final voters’ list featuring 7.43 crore electors, including 14 lakh first-time voters.
CEC Gyanesh Kumar provided insights into the SIR, conducted after a gap of 22 years, noting that the final electoral roll has been shared with all political parties.
“The opportunity for requesting modifications to the electoral rolls remains open until 10 days before candidates file their nomination paperwork for the forthcoming elections,” he stated.
The CEC also outlined the poll panel’s strategies to counter any form of “fake news,” particularly on social media, at the district level to combat misinformation.
He announced that each of the 243 constituencies will be assigned its own observer, unlike previous arrangements where one observer oversaw multiple seats.
The announcement of the Bihar Assembly election dates followed a day after a poll panel delegation concluded its review of election readiness in the state, engaging with representatives from all major political factions and assessing logistical arrangements.
The current 243-member Bihar Assembly's term concludes on November 22, necessitating elections prior to this date. The 2020 Bihar Assembly elections were conducted across three phases.
Sources indicate that the schedule has been meticulously planned to avoid conflicts with major festivals such as Diwali and Chhath, occurring between October 18 and October 28, to ensure seamless polling and maximum voter participation.
The 2025 elections are anticipated to be a high-stakes battle between the ruling alliance of the BJP and Janata Dal(United), and the opposition coalition known as the Mahagathbandhan, led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress.
