Patna, Nov 14 (NationPress) The NDA has achieved a remarkable triumph in Bihar, with the Darbhanga district playing a pivotal role in the alliance's overwhelming success across the state.
Darbhanga comprises nine Assembly constituencies, all of which have been captured by the BJP and JDU. Other partners of the NDA, including LJPRV, HAM, and RLM, did not participate in the elections here.
The Alinagar constituency was a fiercely contested seat in Darbhanga, where Bhojpuri folk artist Maithili Thakur represented the BJP and won against RJD candidate Binod Mishra by a substantial margin of 11,730 votes.
In Bahadurpur, Madan Sahani of JDU, a former cabinet minister in the last Nitish Kumar administration, emerged victorious against Bhola Yadav of RJD, who is known to be close to RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav. The winning margin stood at 12,011 votes.
In Benipur, Binay Kumar Choudhary of JDU bested Congress candidate Mithilesh Kumar Choudhary by 13,603 votes.
For the Darbhanga seat, former cabinet minister and BJP candidate Sanjay Saraogi defeated Umesh Sahani of VIP with a margin of 24,593 votes.
In the Darbhanga rural constituency, Ratenesh Kumar Mandal of JDU won against RJD's Lalit Kumar Yadav by 18,453 votes.
The Gaura Bauram constituency saw an unusual situation where the VIP candidate withdrew, allowing Sujit Singh of BJP to lead with 5,253 votes against Afzal Ali Khan of RJD after 20 rounds of counting, with only two rounds left.
In Hayaghat, Ram Chandra Prasad of BJP secured a commanding victory with 11,839 votes against Shyam Bihari of CPIM.
Finally, in Jale, Jibesh Kumar of BJP, who served as a cabinet minister from 2020 to 2025, defeated Rishi Mishra of Congress by 21,862 votes.
In Keoti, Murari Mohan Jha of BJP won by a margin of 7,305 votes against Faraz Fatmi of RJD, who is the son of former minister Ali Ashraf Fatmi.
