Patna, Oct 11 (NationPress) Janata Dal (United) leader Sanjay Jha took aim at Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), for his recent assertions regarding job creation in Bihar. In response to Yadav's commitment to provide government jobs to one member from every family, regardless of age, caste, or community, should the Opposition alliance gain power, Jha raised concerns about the RJD's track record during its 15 years in governance.
In an interview with IANS, Jha questioned, “What’s their basis for these claims? They should clarify how many jobs they actually created during their 15 years in power. Everyone in Bihar is aware of the reality concerning job opportunities.”
He dismissed Yadav’s job promises as mere desperation.
“This reflects desperation. They are aware of the impending election outcomes, which is why such statements are being made. Anyone can make claims, but the people of Bihar are discerning,” he stated.
Highlighting the achievements of the Nitish Kumar-led government, Jha remarked, “Look at the advancements made under CM Nitish Kumar’s leadership for women and employment. Numerous women are securing jobs under his guidance. He has pledged to create 1 crore jobs in the forthcoming five years, with a particular emphasis on women. This initiative requires support from the Centre.”
Regarding the electoral landscape, Jha expressed confidence in a decisive victory for the NDA.
“It’s poised to be a one-sided election. The people are with the NDA. We’ve received substantial mandates in the Lok Sabha elections and other polls. We are prepared to contest and triumph once more,” he conveyed to IANS.
Conversely, Tejashwi Yadav made a noteworthy pre-election declaration, asserting that if the Opposition alliance is elected, one household member in every family in Bihar will be granted a government job. He assured that legislation to enforce this would be enacted within 20 days of forming the government.
“No household in Bihar will be without a job,” Tejashwi Yadav proclaimed to the media.
“This is a groundbreaking announcement. For two decades, this ineffective government has failed to recognize that unemployment is the most pressing issue in Bihar.”
He also accused the NDA partners, JD(U) and BJP, of neglecting job creation and instead offering unemployment allowances.
“Every family in Bihar without a government job will receive one through a new law. Within 20 months of taking office, we will ensure that no household remains jobless,” he added.
Calling it a “data-driven” promise, Tejashwi Yadav stated, “This is not merely rhetoric. It is my commitment, and it is achievable. It only needs political will. They are even mimicking our announcements now.”
He added that the residents of Bihar are ready for transformation.
“In addition to social justice, we will guarantee economic justice. This is our pledge to the people,” Tejashwi Yadav affirmed.
The elections for the 243-member Bihar Assembly are scheduled for two phases — on November 6 and November 11, with vote counting on November 14.
