Tejashwi Yadav Promises Implementation of Mai-Behan Maan Yojana if RJD Secures Victory in Assembly Elections

Patna, Dec 14 (NationPress) Bihar's Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, announced on Saturday that his administration will roll out the Mai-Behan Maan Yojana in the state if his party emerges victorious in the forthcoming Assembly polls.
Yadav elaborated that the initiative is designed to tackle the difficulties faced by economically disadvantaged women who find it hard to meet basic needs such as food, clothing, and healthcare for their children amidst rising inflation.
He promised that under this scheme, monetary assistance would be transferred directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts within a month of establishing a Mahagathbandhan government in Bihar.
Yadav emphasized the crucial role of women in the development of Bihar, stating, “The economic empowerment of women directly contributes to household and community prosperity. The multiplier effect of cash transfers would have a direct impact on areas such as nutritious food, healthcare, and children’s education.”
“We are convinced that when women receive cash transfers, they invest more in their families' welfare. An enhanced economic status for women benefits the entire family and community,” he stated.
Yadav also criticized the Bihar government, claiming inefficiency and arrogance among officials.
He accused the administration of “oppressing” the youth and asserted that there is a lack of effective governance under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Yadav further targeted Nitish Kumar, who plans to allocate Rs 2.25 billion for the Samvad Yatra, an unprecedented expenditure for any Chief Minister in Bihar’s history.
He described the Mai-Behan Maan Yojana as a fundamental element for Bihar’s reconstruction, envisioning it as a means to uplift not only women but the state as a whole in the future. His comments highlight the opposition’s strategy to focus on grassroots issues, with a strong emphasis on women-centric policies as a catalyst for social change.
